SES DOTZE NAUS Foundation announces the first edition of a research residency program aimed at visual artists, curators, and researchers from Mallorca, Menorca, and Formentera, interested in undertaking a research stay in Ibiza to develop a project in dialogue with the context of the islands.
PURPOSE OF THE CALL
With this call for entries, aimed at the Balearic Islands, SES DOTZE NAUS Foundation seeks to promote mobility and artistic exchanges between the different contexts of the Balearic Islands and to enrich the careers of artists and professionals at various stages of their trajectories. The program aims to foster the production and visibility of knowledge and new critical perspectives, focusing on research processes and offering the time, space, and resources to concentrate on developing a new project or continuing an ongoing one.
RESIDENCY PERIOD
The residency will have a duration of 4 weeks, from November 18 to December 15, 2024.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE
This call is open to visual artists, curators, and researchers from Mallorca, Menorca, and Formentera or residents on these islands. No age limit.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Special consideration will be given to projects that delve into various aspects of the island of Ibiza and propose new dialogues with its imaginaries, communities, and its rich cultural and natural heritage.
It is expected that the proposal includes a public activity, with freedom to propose the format and content of this activity.

Elise Lammer is a curator and the artistic director of Halle Nord, Geneva. She is currently a PhD candidate at Institute Art Gender Nature in Basel, and University Linz, Austria, researching the garden of British artist, filmmaker, author and gay rights activist Derek Jarman (UK, 1942-1994). Since 2019, she’s been developing a garden in homage to Jarman's Prospect Cottage at La Becque | Artists Residency, La Tour-de-Peilz, where she assembled an archive of bootleg material aimed at raising awareness around Jarman's legacy.
Winner of the Basque Government's Gure Artea Award in 2013, in recognition of her artistic career and contribution to contemporary art. Alongside her visual work, Aláez has also engaged in activities such as space design and writing. Since 2000 (coinciding with her project Dance & Disco at Espacio 1 of the Reina Sofía Museum), she is also collaborating with other electronic music creators. She has extensive teaching experience through courses, lectures, and workshops. Ana Laura lives and works in Palma de Mallorca.
