Open Call 2024
Research residency in Ibiza for visual artists, and curators from Mallorca, Menorca, and Formentera
The first edition of a research residency by the Ses12naus Foundation, aimed at visual artists, curators, and researchers from Mallorca, Menorca, and Formentera (or residents on these islands), interested in undertaking a research stay in Ibiza to develop a project in dialogue with the context of the islands.
This Balearic open call sought to promote mobility and artistic exchange across the different contexts of the Balearic Islands, while enriching the careers of artists and professionals at various stages of their trajectories. The programme fostered the production and visibility of knowledge and new critical perspectives, focusing on research processes and offering the time, space, and resources to concentrate on developing a new project or continuing an ongoing one.
The residency had a duration of 4 weeks and took place from November 18 to December 15, 2024.
Special consideration was given to projects that delved into various aspects of the island of Ibiza and proposed new dialogues with its imaginaries, communities, and its rich cultural and natural heritage.
It was expected that the proposal included a public activity, with freedom to propose the format and content of this activity.
The Foundation is pleased to announce that the winner of the open call is Raquel Victoria.
