PROTEIN - artist talk
Animals and machines are recurring motifs in both Simon Dybbroe Møller and Nina Beier’s work. In their respective practices, both artists engage with the mutable tropes embedded in mass-produced goods — objects that circulate across different geo-political realities and accumulate layered meanings through use, exchange, and repetition.
In this talk, Beier and Møller discuss the island’s muddled realities — its contrasting and coexisting natural and cultural forces — and share insights into their individual artistic approaches, as well as the collaborative nature of PROTEIN, developed through their residency in Ibiza between April and July 2023.
